60-205 - An Introduction to the Internet

Marking Scheme - Part 1

The following is a breakdown of the marking scheme for the index page. Please read through the help sheets on the class web pages for further information regarding the WWW project. This project is worth 5% of the overall mark for the 60-205 class.

Part 1 - Index Page Assignment: 5 marks

The first part of the web project must be online by 11:59:59pm, Thursday, March 5th, 2015 . This will be the main page of your final web project but may be changed and edited after the due date. The marks will be assigned based on these elements and each requirement must be contained in a file called "index.htm" or "index.html". The filename and extension must be in lower case. If you are using frames you still must have the file containing the items below called "index.htm" or "index.html" uploaded to your directory. You may revise the index page after it has been marked to contain your frame code.

It must contain all of the following items:

  • (1) a back link to the student's name in the class index. (This link must use the internal anchor on the index to go the student's name.)

  • (1) There must be a "mailto:" link on the main page, for sending E-mail to the student. Your name and email address do not need to appear on your page.

  • (1) There must be some text (see what is content) upon your page which states the topic you will be making your web pages about.

  • (1) There must be an image on the page.

  • (1) The page must be coded in proper HTML.

Please see the rules page for properly coding your page. It is your responsibility to ensure your page is correct.
